Trips & Events
Mark your calendars & don't miss these events:
SOS: June 25-30
BigStuf: July 9-13
YEW: October 20-22
This winter spiritual retreat takes place at Timber Creek Camp in Pulaski, MS. Students spend four days surrounded by God’s creation, new and old friends and caring adult leaders, allowing them the opportunity to connect or reconnect with our Creator. This retreat is for all 7th-12th grade students.
The retreat includes teaching, worship, small groups, hiking, canoeing, a ropes course, games, meals and fellowship. This is an awesome opportunity for you to be recharged and refreshed in your faith!
>>Special memories are made at BreakThru, and this year was "out of the box." Read our blog post to hear how special this time really is for our students.
Youth Encounter Weekend
YEW is a weekend-long, on-site retreat that focuses on discipleship—and FUN! It is one of the cornerstone events of our calendar every year, and you will not want to miss it.
Each summer we take some sort of fun trip, alternating between HS and MS. In 2015, our MS students went to Kings Island, a great amusement park in Ohio, and in 2016, our HS students went to BigStuf summer camp in Panama City Beach, FL.
Our HS and MS groups alternate each year to participate in mission trips. Our MS students stay stateside, while our HS trips are somewhere overseas. We do this because we take seriously Jesus’s commission to, “Go!” We also do it to help our students realize that they are to be participants in the kingdom of God, not just consumers, and to expand their worldview. In 2015, our HS students went to the New Life Children’s Home in Guatemala, and in 2016, our MS students served in Chicago with Center for Student Missions. We also provide support, communication and encouragement for the annual lay-led family trip to Mexico.
Service Over Self (SOS)
Each summer our students serve in the inner city doing urban home repair—mostly roofing—for homeowners in Binghampton. It is a week where they learn a great deal about being the hands and feet of Christ, and we hope God uses it as a launching point for living a lifestyle of service. Don't miss it!
