Our “main thing” is to help lead you to Christ Jesus in a way that results in a personal relationship with God and a desire to serve your neighbor. This is what it means for you to make a Profession of Faith that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. To move in this direction is to embrace promises from scripture regarding God’s grace and to pray a prayer of commitment to the Lord.
Grace of God is for all people from the noblest do-gooder, to the most wretched sinner. . .even for me. (John 3:16)
Recognize & Repent of sin. We have not loved God with our whole heart. We have not loved our neighbors. Our sin creates a great divide between us and our Creator. Though God’s love reaches us right where we are, He doesn’t want us to stay that way. (Romans 3:9-26; 6:15-18) |

Accept God’s forgiveness. The cross of Jesus Christ bridges the gap between our failure and God’s Grace. Accept that God loves you so much that in the midst of your sin, He died for you. (Romans 8:14-16, 31-39)
Confess Christ as Lord & Savior. Once we understand God’s grace, let us commit our lives to Him. (Romans 10:9) When you are ready, speak the prayer below from your heart to God. |

Enter into discipleship. This prayer is one point on our collective journey of discipleship. We are called to join with other followers of Christ to regularly worship, meet in a small group and serve in ministry or mission. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14,4-8)
God, You are good, and I put my trust in You. You sent Your one and only Son Jesus to show the way and then die on a cross for me, to rescue me from my sin. I believe. I trust that in Your great mercy my past has been wiped clean, every wrong forgiven—and through the power of the resurrection You will free me for joyful obedience! I invite Your Holy Spirit to be my helper and counselor. I pray that You would gather Christian community around me to be encouragers and motivators. And help me become Your hands and feet to others. Equip me with the gifts and inspiration to do Your work. Connect me with people in need and ways to meet that need. I surrender my life for Your purpose and plan Lord God. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
