Orphan Care

orphan care circle.jpg

The Orphan Care initiative at Christ Church is a collaboration of church members both here at CUMC and with other churches in Memphis who are connected in their passion and work for the orphan in light of the urgent need in our world and in the power of God's love for these most vulnerable members of our society.

Orphan Care holds that there are ways for each one of us to care for the orphans in our world, whether that it is in prayer, speaking up, providing, supporting, visiting, protecting, giving, adopting, or mobilizing.

the christ church adoption fund

One major way for the entire church together to respond to the world's need is to donate to this fund administered by the 501(c)(3) organization Lifesong for Orphans. Because the financial resources needed throughout the adoption process are often very demanding, the church community can play the role of ensuring that finances do not remain an obstacle for those who are ready to move forward with welcoming a child into their families.

All contributions to the Christ Church Adoption Fund are made through Lifesong and are fully tax deductible, with 100% of all contributions being used to provide matching grants to qualified families. You can donate by sending your check to CUMC, c/o Christ Church Adoption Fund. You can also make your contribution online. Be sure to include "Christ Church Adoption Fund (CUMC Memphis)" in the description field so that your contribution is properly directed.

If you have questions or want to apply for a grant from the fund, please contact Stephanie Harding.
