CUMC hosts Fellowship of Christian Athletes Football Camp
The CUMC campus was busy recently as CUMC hosted the East High Mustangs football team for a three-day camp filled with devotions, speakers and spiritual mentoring. The team was also able to get a little football in with practices and scrimmages against Christian Brothers and Manassas High Schools.
“The Holy Spirit moved powerfully through the faithful presence, prayers and support of all the volunteers, staff and coaches involved in this year’s camp,” said Greg Spillyards. “Celebrate in knowing that God led nine players to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior for the first time. Nineteen players recommitted their lives to Jesus Christ, and 28 players made a commitment to play alcohol and drug free.”
Here are a few comments from the athletes:
This camp taught me how to put God before anything, even football.
I learned about the Gospel and know a bit more of what it means to live by Christ.
While in huddle group, I had a lot of my questions answered about the Lord.
