Crosstown Bible Study

Crosstown Bible Study with Tom Fuerst

Tuesdays, March 21-May 23 | 6:30-7:30 a.m.
Crosstown Concourse

Beginning this month, Tom Fuerst will start the Crosstown Bible Study, meeting in the classroom space of Tech901 in the newly opened Crosstown Concourse in Midtown Memphis. Open to all ages; no cost, but space is limited.

The spring session begins March 21 and will be held every Tuesday through May 23, beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ending promptly at 7:30 a.m. so attendees can arrive at work on time.

For this first session, Tom will teach Undercurrents: The Unexplained Symbols of the Biblical World.
Every culture has symbols that insiders "naturally" understand and outsiders have to have explained to them. These symbols often make up the big ideas, the cultural values, the assumed meanings of the culture. So, too, ancient biblical persons had their own culture with its unique set of symbols, meanings and values. This study will help illuminate those things, which are generally unexplained in the Bible. In short, this is a study on the themes behind the stories we all know and love.
