A note from the Task Force chair:
God is so faithful! What an incredible event we had on Saturday . . .
1,100 volunteers; more than 200,000 meals produced; ran smooth as silk; 17,000 Gospel tracts placed in bags; 241 youth recruited by MUS; 33 youth recruited by Mike Cloutier from St. George’s; East High School football players packaged a record 16 boxes in one shift; U of M basketball team, girls golf team and men's baseball players joined us—one player from Africa whose heart was touched came back on his own to package; long segment presented on Channel 13 at 9:00 news; Medtronics loved the event so much they committed to having their own packaging event; painting raised $200; more than 800 uniform shirts donated to Mercy Ministries school; more than 200 pairs of shoes donated by St. George’s for children at Mercy Ministries school; toothbrushes and toothpaste donated for all the children at Mercy Ministries; container purchased and painted that will carry the message of Christ Feeds over thousands of miles of railway, ocean and dusty roads to untold numbers of people; and the list goes on and on!
In our efforts to feed and clothe the hungry and poor in Zambia, our faith was strengthened and we ignited a fire in the hearts of countless numbers of people—a fire for serving the poor—and, most importantly, a fire for wanting to know more about Jesus. You are good and faithful servants to our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every prayer, every word of encouragement, every dollar and every minute you contributed to Christ Feeds Zambia. It was a total team effort of committee members, church staff and clergy, event workers and church and community members who donated their physical and financial resources—a total team effort that would not have been possible without the grace and faithfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ!
